I know many have asked similar questions about relocating to salt lake valley. I have transferred to U of U and will be starting classes in January and I will be moving from rural area New Mexico. Any suggestions for areas to live is greatly appreciated.

This board has fallen into inactivity and I can't offer much I'm afraid. But since, as you say, many have asked similar questions, have you tried searching? Then come back with more specific questions.

Are you wanting to stay with more rural like living, or are you wanting to try city life? What is your budget like? Rents are astronomical right now, are you ok with roommates?

You may already be at the U, so I don't know if this will help you much.

My daughter went to nearby Westminster College, from out of state. She found living north - like in Farmington- she was able to get a more affordable 1 bedroom apartment, walking distance to the train, which she took into SLC.

Or, go south of SLC, and look for places near the train which you can take into SLC to U of U. Even south into Lehi/American Fork.

Sadly, it's VERY expensive in the SLC metro area.

Take care and I wish you well at U of U!
