We are moving to Salem (or maybe Keizer) this summer. We have young children and are looking for a preschool for them. I am a stay at home mom and I just want a preschool for 3 mornings a week. I would prefer if was not a daycare as well, and I would prefer it not being religiously based. I've looked into a few and they are quite expensive ($300-$400 per month). Can you tell me of any good preschools in the area?

Secondly, we are considering possibly moving to Keizer for a bigger, newer house. What kind of reputation does Keizer have? We would be sending the kids to Clear Lake Elementary, which gets high ratings. How long does it take to drive from Keizer to downtown Salem?

Thank you so much for your help.

We are retired and live across I-5 from Keizer, so cannot answer questions on housing or your childrens needs..I will say this, we use the post office (nice group of people work there) our vet is there , our dentist is there and our dog groomer is there.Plus all the stores at Keizer station and we go the see the Volcano's play baseball in the summer at Volcano stadium..
Your about 10 minutes from the middle of Salem..15 from our favorite grocery store on the south end of town,(Winco)..Its just a neat town to live in and shop in..
Also 10 minutes from a great year around fresh veg market out on Hazel Green Rd..
We just love the convience of being so close to Keizer and the nice people who work there.
