Hello. My hubby/I are thinking about moving to either: Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Folsom or Roseville CA. We're in our mid 40's. Our dog & cat are our kids. I'd like to know what city has alot of dining, live entertainment and shopping. Looking for a fast pace area. Not a small town feeling. Also, what are the falls and winters like? Rain? Cold?

Anyone know of any good realtors? Thanks.

All of the communities you listed are primarily residential suburbs. There is shopping, primarily at shopping malls that are exactly like every other shopping mall in America, and dining, primarily at strip malls that are exactly like every other strip mall in America. I think Roseville is starting to sprout some pretentious high-end restaurants. Live entertainment...no.

If you don't have kids (and thus don't care about schools) I'd recommend looking at midtown Sacramento or East Sacramento. Sacramento isn't exactly Excitement City, but there's a lot more in terms of energy, city feel and things to do within walking distance than any of the cities you mentioned.

Fall here is pretty mild--in fact, spring and fall here are particularly glorious, unless you're an allergy sufferer. Winters are rainy but it pretty much never snows.

All of those are surbs and have a small town feel. People are friendly and polite. It was pretty rainy couple years ago, unsure how it is now.

Try Ziprealty, they are offering a good deal on giving you a portion back of their commission, that's who we are using to look for homes for us while we are out of state.
