my junior is already in IB programm, they can not change it, talked to district no problem. We can live, where we want, he is accepted in any IB programm around, commute is his problem.

i like North California more than South CA. When i came first from Europe, we lived in Napa Valley area before moving to South CA.I have never been to Folsom Lake, that area ,but i googled it. Walked around google maps, love Granite Bay and Eldorado Hills, seem to be the right place for us.

Thank you for your answer

40 miles or so depending on where you live. Get in your 1 hour commute but just barely.

Placerville to Sacramento is longer than 1hour in commuter traffic, especially when traffic is moving at a snails pace.... I see it frequently on my reverse commute. It might help to buy/own a car that can travel in the carpool lane, or carpool, or drive to Folsom & take the light rail into downtown. OR be on the road by 6-630 am.

Yes, El Dorado Hills depending on where you live is 15-25 minutes closer. I've made the drive downtown quite a few times and it's only been a couple that it's been an hour to get there. Mostly due to a wreck on the highway.

There is an IB program at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, you could get a sweet mid-century place in South Land Park or the Little Pocket with mature trees and beautiful landscaping that's a 10 minute drive from downtown and a 10 minute walk from the Sacramento River!

If Granite Bay has an IB program, that would be worth looking into. It is a lovely community.
We also have the AP program here that is academically rigorous. Rocklin/Roseville/Granite Bay pretty much any of the strong school districts will have solid AP course offerings.
