hows the residential high-rise/mid-rise living scene in sac? can someone thro' some light on possible locations (midtown & dwntwn) and rent costs and commuting options if i were to rent an apt there. i will be commuting to work to rancho cord/ folsom & dont want to live in rancho. i doubt if public trnsport is available to commute from midtown to rancho? i dont mind a 35-40 min one-way commute, only if it gets over 1 hr then it might be boring. open to both public transport as well as driving a car whichever is better. thanks folks,..

I'd have others who have lived there comment on the rental scene, but here are a couple of sites about Sacramento urban living:

Downtown Sacramento Partnership

midtowngrid.com, Directory for Sacramento, Midtown, Downtown Sacramento, East Sacramento and Old Saccramento Business Directory for shopping, restaurants, hotels, Sacramento's 2nd Saturday Art Walk, Entertainment and more!

downtown - Sacramento, California

Light rail runs along Folsom Blvd with two stops in Rancho Cordova, one at Zinfandel and the other at Sunrise Blvd. However, you probably would need to have other transportation to your building:
