You should know that in recent years, there have been some safety concerns about the da Vinci surgical robot. The success of your surgery depends largely on the expertise of your surgeon, and there are few who really know what they are doing. This is not just my opinion, but that of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), who say that there is no good data showing that robot surgery is as good as other existing options for a hysterectomy. Intuitive, the company who makes da Vinci, is being sued by people who suffered injuries like bleeding, organ damage and cut blood vessels. This law firm's website gives a good summary of what has been happening recently and what to do if you did experience complications from da Vinci:

It is all in the skill of your surgeon. Too many doctors are using it without the extensive training they should have. Check out your doctors expertise (how many da vinci surgeries has he/she performed, what kind of training).
