The VIP room never bothered anybody. This has gone on for years. In a way I think it’s amazing marijuana gets legalized before prostitution. The reason for the closure may have a lot to do with the fact that we have a militant feminist governor.

The governor does not control the Providence Police dept. I doubt what has happened to the Foxy Lady has any connection to the governor. If anything, the club likely alienated important Providence city officials in some way. A cynic would suggest that they are probably not providing enough payola.
"Providence police identified the women as Neish Rivera, 25, of Providence; Lindsay Hoffman 30, of Waterbury, Connecticut; and Melissa McNeely, 32, of Madison, Connecticut.
This person, Neish Rivera, is back in the news for stealing a gun from an off-duty Boston cop at the Hampton Inn in Pawtucket.
That cop is either dirty or Boston cops make way too much money. $2500 to have sex with these 2 at a hotel in Pawtucket. (The woman on the right was one of the 3 arrested for prostitution at the Foxy Lady.)
Now, in part due to the recent Foxy Lady arrests and shutdown, some are advocating for the legalization of prostitution in Rhode Island.
As GoLocal reported, State Representative Anastasia Williams has introduced legislation to create a study commission to look at legalization of prostitution. The idea of legalization has support from one Providence City Councilwoman, Katherine Kerwin, who suggested in the shadow of the Foxy Lady controversy that it is time to consider decriminalization.
