Yeah, I guess so, but I would think it probably only brings in a small fraction of what recreational marijuana would.

Grabbing state revenue from victimless places like sports betting & especially recreational marijuana is no vice. Massachusetts always seems a big step ahead of everybody (except maybe California).

I found it amusing that the Providence Journal, in its story on the introduction of legal sports betting at Twin River, basically acknowledged that sports betting had been a big business in RI for a long time.


The state of Rhode Island, once the epicenter of mob-controlled bookmaking operations across New England, made its first foray into legal sports betting on Monday.
