We filed jointly with paper forms and got a small refund in the form of a paper check last year - we both are SS recipients with direct deposit.
So we assume ours will be direct deposited whenever the IRS gets around to it.

This first batch was only 80 million. The IRS has 171 million to pay. It didn't all go out last week.

Aha. Thank you for the link. I owed a small payment with my 2018 tax return, so apparently I won't be getting a direct deposit of my stimulus money then.

That's ok because my employer is still paying me my full salary (I'm working from home). I just wanted to check up on what was going on with my stimulus payment.

Social Security normally pays on Wednesday. 2nd and 3rd Wednesday are normal Paydays. I would go with next Wednesday direct deposit.

Regular Social Security Retirements are paid on 2nd, 3rd, 4th Wednesday of a month depending on your birthdate. Mine is the 26th so 4th Wed. for me.

And stimulus payments are separate payments.

We submit taxes because we still have a corporation. But the past 2 years we either showed a loss or had a return we let them keep and put toward the next year. So no direct deposit. We do have SS direct deposit, so I guess we'll get it when we get it. I only care because I plan on sending it to someone who needs it worse than me.

I'm surprised to hear people who get Social Security are getting stimulus checks. What money is being replaced? I get a pension. I don't expect a stimulus check on top of that. I thought stimulus checks were only for working people who aren't getting a paycheck.

Because they want the stimulus money to get spent to stimulate the economy
