Love to hear from current and former residents about this community. We currently are in Sun City Festival and thinking about a change froll tom the intense summer heat...but Texas? Humidity? Don't know but like the idea of small town near Austin.

Texas has 3 digit temps during the summer.
Humidity is relative though depending on where you are coming from.
50-60% humidity unless there hasn't been any rain in a long time and then it could be 40% humidity.

I lived in Texas for over 20 years..Austin area. Georgetown isn't so small anymore..approaching 50K.
The property taxes are pretty high in Texas as well.

You might get more answers by posting in the Texas-Austin subforum.

I have an old military friend who lives there. He doesn't really like it for many reasons. One reason is his personality. He's a non-conformist. He's probably not suited for any Sun City.

Sun City Texas gets some nice reviews on 55Places.com. We had intended to live in a Sun City in Las Vegas. But San Diego is just too hard to leave. It's like Hotel California.
