Especially for international destinations.
Same company as VRBO, makes for some confusion as the same listing will have two different numbers.

Yes,. Both joined a few yrs ago, but I prefer the international owners who usually use HomeAway for listing. Their places are usually nicer condition and less worn out.

I have several friends who snowbird and they said there's a 3 month rental minimum. I have one friend who is in Fort Myers right now and was forced to rent 3 months but would have preferred 2 months.

That varies from property to property, and location to location. It may be that your friend is renting in a condominium that has a rule prohibiting rentals for shorter than three months, to prevent the place from becoming like a hotel.

We used to rent out a snowbird house and would always try for a three month rental. We would have rented to someone for a month or two but only if there wasnt someone willing to take three months. The rental manager would tell potential renters something like I will take your number for the two month rental but everyone who wants the three month rental gets in line before you. Demand was usually good so usually most everything had a three and sometimes four month stay. This was not through VRBO but through a local home rental management place.

However, I see some friends of mine renting for a month at a time in the same town but its usually a higher end and considerably more expensive house and I believe this was VRBO.

I had no problem finding a condo in Scottsdale for the month of March next year, on "Home to Go".

Home to Go searches Airbnb, vrbo, flip key...

FloridaRentbyOwner.com and Floridasnowbird.com are also good sites. We avoided the fees that are tacked on by going through the owner. We signed a two month lease.
