Mine are the usual: more exercise, get this home remodeling done(as in done done), landscaping, garden plot with decent results for once. Nothing will happen, but wait until next year.

I notice - no answers. I guess New Years is coming around much too often, rather like every other week or so - so it makes sense, how can you make new resolutions when you've only had a week or so, to accomplish the last ones?

My wife needs to retire in 2020. Slavery was outlawed in 1865. So her employer keeps adding huge bonuses if she works just one more year. This practice is known as 'golden handcuffs'. It's hard to walk away from those bonuses.

Spend less time on the Net.

Spend less time chasing fantasies on the Net.

Spend more time writing in my diary especially since that seems to be a counter to the first two.

Increase my home fantasy life. Explanation: So often on the ranch, I am in the doldrums (more about that in the energy equations) that I turn to the Net to play. The thing with the Net is that it is never ending (to say nothing of its pitfalls such as the long delays between responses and those who suddenly hang up on you) but not necessarily so with a personal fantasy such as, for instance, a D&D type game.

Go to the events that I sign up and pay for and I suppose....be more conservative when I sign up for events.

Stop procrastinating.

Don't rush decisions because it is on sale now.

Be on time.

Continue to work on my energy equations and hopefully, find the answers.

Explanation: In switching from night to day work, even after a little more than a year, I am still at a low point in energy. Some of it is the schedule such as having activities 4 hours after the end of work when I should be going to bed. Some of it is going from a job where I sat for 8 hours to one where I am doing a heck of lot more in my shift. And some of it, in relation to what I said above about how this would be the explanation for it, is going from a job where I had so much in pouring of cable and Net energy, with all its pretty lights and fantastic people, to having quite the opposite of it in all energy sources.

As a friend said in observation of my old mid shift, 27 years at it, job......."You have a job that doesn't tire you out so you can go off and play at the things you like.".

Meet more frequently with friends.

Drink only great craft beers.

Ignore the news.

Help others.

Be grateful and cheerful.

Mine are the usual suspects (diet, exercise, eat helthier, show gratitude, etc) but I have added travel more, restore some neglected social connections, and get a house cleaner. I have a garden project in mind -to convert my aging (dying out) courtyard garden into a Japanese style garden as much as possible (for a desert).

These are mine for 2020:
  • Use up all maple syrup from container before starting a new one.
  • Read articles DH emails within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Whenever possible, buy organic foods.
  • Open and deal with emails before going on to fun sites.
  • Pay attention to portion sizes and even though it tastes good, don’t have automatic seconds.
  • Walk approx. 1 mile daily, unless temperature is below 10 or over 85.
  • Study and use the Triple Goddess Tarot.
  • Use the Wisdom of the Crone cards.
  • Don’t be cheap with yourself--buy the nice soap and other treats even if they are expensive--treat yourself as though you matter, because you do.
