I chose not to get the vaccine. Since I was a kid, every time I got a vaccination I got sick as a dog. In 1969 on the plane to Vietnam, they thought they were going to have to divert the plane because I had a fever of almost 105, possibly due to the vaccines we got and about which I had no choice. It broke, so on we went. I just don't get vaccines, so I'll take my chances.
Today my husband got the new shingles vaccine. All the talk on here reminded me to tell him! So he asked his dr and he got it right there and then during his routine appointment. No special appointment needed and he is fine.
I think he goes back in three weeks for the booster.

I wonder what that is. Something in the vaccine that you are sensitive to? I know with Viet Nam they didn't even seem to care. My ex was in Viet Nam and did not come back as the same person but that was PTSD. My own dad had such a reaction to a vaccine that he couldn't serve during WWII. He fainted and was really embarrassed. Does anyone know what it could be in vaccines that would cause this reaction?

I get no vaccines, so don't know if I would get sick or not. Not big on those shots. I think the last one was for a tetnus shot due to a rusty nail. Otherwise I keep my immune system healthy with what I do.
Aside from the fact that your cost estimate is ridiculous, we don't need to hear over and over and over (and over and over....) that you're not going to get the Shingles vaccine. We all heard you the first 50 times you told us.

So we have to hear how many of you think the shingles shot is the best thing since slice bread but the poster you are quoting cant express her/his opinion? Hmmm... you believe in the vaccine, good for you. Others dont, good for them. Health and health care is a personal decision.

And exaggeration. Shingrix was free for me via my company’s Anthem health insurance, because I am 60. I can’t recall ever spending anything on vaccines. How many thousands do you think she has paid for her supplements?
