If they cut my Social Security (I retired early with a disability), will my postal pension go up?

It was cut due to the amount of SS i receive - so i figure if i get a SS cut, they'll have to increase my pension/annuity to match - no?

Jellybean50 you should not have any cut in SS. I do believe your employer paid into SS unless I am wrong. You should be covered as any federal employee.

Are You one of those people who have a hybrid CSRS/FERS pension or are you just straight FERS? I don't think that the "hold harmless" effect will apply to you. I'd contact OPM and see if they could shed any light on your fairly unique situation. I also remember a supervisor who retired early on a disability pension and she mentioned that she didn't get any "COLAS" with her pension. How long have you been collecting your pension?

If I am not missing my guess. I would say that JB50 is mid 60s and is a hybrid. I have been re-reading the posts here and think I understand the question JB50 has.

Okay the simple answer is JB do not worry about SS at this point. There have been a lot of alarms and knee jerk reactions. It takes a long time for changes to take effect. Also nothing has been put out on paper since Congress isn't in session at this point. The new players have not been sworn in and we do not know what will come of any bill that is in planning stages.

That is not to say that nothing will happen. It is just saying that do not panic and worry over nothing and something that you cannot do anything about since it hasn't happened yet. Keep in contact with your congressman. Let them know you are worried and they have to respond to you if you write them. Although my Senator E Warren hasn't seen fit to respond to my letters.
