Agreed. I took my 2008 9-5 Aeronfor its 40,000 mile service and it runs as new. I love pressing the Sport button and feeling the power to merge onto the highway? Finding a good independent Saab shop ensures i have much lower maintenance bills.

Don't worry - the next 40k will be more interesting and expensive.

Pre-2004 9-5's and 9-3's had some issues, but I'm pretty sure everything since then is very reliable and the kinks were worked out. Edmund's consumer reports seem to reflect that. I only know this because I've looked into and thought about buying a Saab. I'm just not huge on going FWD, nor am I big on Aisin transmissions, although I've come to grips with the use of the GM ecotec engine block because it seems to be a gunuinely good engine and I'm sure is more refined in the Saabs.

Maybe you're right. Everything I've had was pre '94.
