Two of the casinos have regular shows: Harrah's & Eldorado. Generally speaking, Harrah's shows tend to be racier (some shows have nudity), while Eldorado has more family friendly fare. The other casinos have comedians, musicians, etc. that perform regularly in their various showrooms. Grand Sierra Resort formerly the Reno Hilton, Bally's & MGM Grand is still billed as having the biggest moving stage in the world, but they haven't had a regular show there in over a decade. They do use it for various concerts/performances though.

As far as "theatre" goes, you should check out Pioneer Center & Bruka Theatre:

I know it's not Casino related, but I forgot to include 2 other main entertainment venues for those interested.

Lawlor Events Center, University of Nevada, Reno

Reno Events Center, Managed by the RSCVA

I've seen some great shows at Harrah's, they are the only casino I'm familar with when it comes to the shows. But they are great, some will be racie as previously stated but they will let you know before hand. Most of the shows that I've seen there have all been pretty PG+ and very exciting.

Default No necessarily racy

Thanks for everyones input. I wasn't thinking necessarily of the shows with the half naked show girls and huge head dresses... I was thinking more along the lines of shows with big name entertainers, like Gladys Knight, David Copperfield, Shania Twain, Bernie Mac, Cirque du Soleil, etc.

We get many of those shows/entertainers too.

Balagan was a long-running show at Eldorado (VERY good Cirque-style show).

The Reno/Tahoe Blues Festival just took place and always has amazing performers:

Reno Tahoe Blues Festival

Off the top of my head, we've had Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Buble, Gwen Stefani all come through town recently. Up at Tahoe we've had Fergie and Beyonce.

As far as comedians go, we've had Carlos Mencia, Jay Leno, George Lopez, Jerry Seinfeld and many others in the past year. I saw Margaret Cho up at Tahoe a while back and she was amazing (not sure if you appreciate her sense of humor, but she's great live).

Thanks again jwaters, you have been very helpful....

5 more days and Ill be there! I am looking forward to getting back to the West... these past 2 yrs in Florida have been very long, besides not working, its too flat and jungle like, hot & muggy, buggy & reptilian for my taste! To me its worse than the Midwest in the flat department. Miss those wide open spaces and mountains!
