Depends on what you mean by "creator". The idea the universe exists just as the playground of Homo sapiens, created in the "image of God"... no, I can't believe that. The universe obviously came from somewhere, but that doesn't mean that "somewhere" is some bearded man up on a cloud.

Well simply put. If it's all a lie, then every religious flaw so eloquently pointed out by atheism is not the fault of God, but the evolutionary process. God therefore is off the hook.
