At least it would be considered unwise (read: stupid and / or ignorant).
I shouldn't drink as much Pepsi as I do, but would that be a sin?

Only if you are allergic to Pepsi. I mean if you are (severely) allergic to peanuts you would be stupid to keep eating a Snickers bar.
It also would be a sin to keep smoking if you don't want to die of lung cancer.
Only when you don't care about your health (and the health of the people you love) would smoking not be a sin.

The things you mentioned would be common sense, but I do not know if I would call that a sin.

In your book, but in the Bible? (Not arguing or being nasty at all with you, just having a nice discussion with you.)
Sorry if we have gone off the recycling topic of the thread.
I don't believe in an afterlife, so carrying sins over into the afterlife is pointless for me.
I try to live in the here and now and not in tomorrow (read: heaven or hell).
You could say that I do not take the Bible literally.

As long as nobody complains that I'm going off topic I don't mind answering questions.

All right. Enough is enough. Let's get back to talking about garbage

To me sinning (not willing to learn from your mistakes) is the same as collecting garbage.
The process of recycling would be proof of the willingness to learn from your mistakes; even mistakes have value so should not be discarded effortlessly.
