Glad to hear you're doing a little better though, cncracer and hopefully this will overshadow my little "wedding stint" on the forum.

Thank you for pointing that out, ILNC. Is there any way we can divert our attention back to cncracer? After all, he's posting from the hospital bed! Don't forget that!

I'd feel better if he would sneak over to the hospital computer and say hello...

I wanted to again thank everyone for the post and emails. It was the highpoint of my week. I was allowed to come home last night and shift to an outpatient status. I have made it 24 hours with low fevers, and no great problem with pain which were the two requirements to get released. This week was a real experience, and a not so great way to loss 15 pounds in a week. They still have not given me the “one” cause of the problem, but said I may get it in the test results they sent off.
They also said if it turned out to be viral I might never get an answer. What ever it was seems the IV antibiotic Rosephen and oral doxycycline used together was able to knock it out.
I have been told within the week or two I should be able to return to my regular work pace.

I want to add a word for the people in the Raleigh, NC area. The Western Wake Hospital in Cary is an extremely good hospital. These times are never good, but when it happened I think I was lucky to have them to take charge. They rapidly addressed the high fever, and pain followed by the systemic search for the cause. I liked the fact they were willing to explain the issues, and effects each test or treatreatment could cause.
Again thanks to all, was trully a great suprise and pulled my outlook out of the dumps.

"Welcome Home cncracer" wishes from June!

I am glad to hear that you are back home, taking it easy, and on the mend!

(Am just wondering in what sort of condition you left those poor, terrorized nurses in!)

Take gentle recooperative care,

-June

Yes, with new strains of viruses coming out that have been resistant to antibiotics, it can get scary. Just take it easy and check in when you can. We'll all be here! So glad you're able to be home in the meantime!
