The 'natural process' wont be fast enough to sustain our current oil usage though...think about it, all this oil took MILLIONS of years to accumulate...mankind has only been using this oil for 100s of years...of course this means, at some point we will run out.

In other words, we are using more than is naturally produced.

Probably won't run out. Rate of consumption will decline as alternatives become less expensive and more advanced. The Stone Age didn't run out of stones. But it's true that it takes time for oil to be produced

lol. the difference is stone usage and oil usage made that comment funny. I predict we make the next life form in 200 years or less. Oil won't be a problem. Unless we don't make it.

The way we use oil to extract energy from it is unbelievably inefficient. I suspect in 200 years they will have much more efficient methods of extracting energy for our use.

11 consecutive posts that don't mention a single thing about religion and spirituality is not veering a tad off course. There's a science forum for those who would like to talk strictly about the science of petroleum products.
