Didn't your church's founder outright condemn all the Christian churches when he started the LDS church? It's ok to debate and discuss. We are all adults. But you should be willing to receive criticism if you're going to be on the other end.
But Katzpur isn't Joseph Smith. (Sorry, K, for picking you out as an example, but you joined the conversation, lol.) I am an Episcopalian, and she is a Mormon. We have mutual respect for each other, even though we know the doctrines we chose to associate with don't agree. I can't speak for her, but it doesn't matter to me because part of what I believe is that my way isn't the right way for everyone else. This is where I was led to go, I believe, through my seeking and through the hand of God. That's where she is meant to be. I studied intensely, she has studied intensely. We came to different conclusions, but does it matter in the end? I'm of the mind that we are all going up different paths on the same mountain.
I do tend to be harder on fundamentalist Christians because Christianity is my faith and I believe their insistent on the divinity of the Bible and the literal interpretation used to condemn and judge others is damaging to our faith. I've been trying not to engage in those arguments anymore. I can't fix it, and maybe that's one of those things I have to just let go of.
Quite frankly this whole conversation can be turned around.
Why do (fill-in-the-blank with talking point name of the day) feel the need to claim that certain behaviors should be celebrated, supported and embraced? And if you choose not to celebrate, support and embrace them , you are called names, yelled at, told you are stupid and backward and MUST be uneducated, or else you would be supporting these behaviors?
Because this a more accurate representation of reality.
Things in the U.S. are getting so bad that having an opinion that doesn't agree with whatever political party is in office will soon be illegal. Say bye bye to free speech people.

Where do you see it being said that Christians or anyone else must celebrate sin? I have a feeling I know where this is going, but I'll let you do the driving
Are you in agreement then that the female members of your family should have to put up with having fundamental Muslims call them sluts and whores for appearing in public with their faces and hair showing because they refuse to wear the hijab?

Grow up, Vizio. My comments weren't directed towards your denomination. Why must you bring my denomination into the discussion on every thread you post on?

If you think this thread is about free speech , you haven't paid the least bit of attention to what has been said . Please start doing so if you wish to participate in discussing what's actually said .
Why? Because for conservative Christians, their religion is not merely "their faith" or "their religion," but THE TRUTH with a capital "T."
Since, in their minds, they have THE TRUTH for all time and all people, they believe they have every right to condemn anyone who doesn't accept THE TRUTH. And they believe that government should be based on THE TRUTH and not human desires for rights and protections.

You were criticizing Christians for criticizing others. I find that hypocritical--especially in light of your religion's founder's words.
