Religious belief is human nature, huge new study claims – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs

A new interesting study shows that it is human nature to gravitate towards religious beliefs of some sort. The study was very careful not to take sides. To the atheist, this evidence shows how primitive our species is and how we must evolve beyond religious beliefs. To the theist, it backs up the common Christian belief that humans have been given the innate desire to seek their creator. Thoughts?

Most people believe in what they grew up with and stick with it because of family. It became inate in us to have a religious belief although I don't believe that a belief in any religion is a necessity or that we started out that way.

I do know that we are the only species that knows how to worship so it most likely began when we learned about worship.

Bingo...if its inate in us, its because for hundreds of years you were burned at the stake, declared a heretic, etc. if you were a non-believer of any religion that was out there. You could almost argue it evolutionized itself into humans because your survival depended on it lol
