today is Friday the 13th, yea I know you already knew that, -lol.
Just curious if anybody has any funny, strange superstitions they or family members follow, nor just about today but anytime, like not walking under a ladder, etc.
Personally I dont have any that I know of, but when my wife and i got married, there were several "barn" cats that we fed that would come up to our house and wed feed them. Most were black cats.
One day i noticed an old farmer in the road in front of our house that was stopped in the gravel road, I hollered at him if he needed any help. He said no, he was waiting 7 minutes because one of the black cats had ran out in front of him..and he didnt want to get bad luck.
I guess i should say that I dont believe in Superstitions because I believe God controls things...but some of the superstitions sure are funny...
LOL! I was born on the 13th (not Friday!) so I tend not be superstitious!
To be superstitious seems kind of at odds with my faith somehow. Kinda like attributing power to something that shouldn't have any, ya know?
No superstitutions. My brother and sister in law got married on a Friday the 13th because it was the only day they could book the theater they got married in. It was 7 years ago and they are going strong!
one maybe not a superstition, but old folklore, that some believe, here anyway, that you can remove a wart by stealing your moms dishtowel and burying in the yard, and never telling her.
I love black cats, and will walk under any ladder to get where I'm going quicker. I have stepped on cracks my entire life, and my mother's spine is still intact.

Me too spunky, I've also broken a lot mirrors and opened umbrellas in the house
Okay, I have ONE that I can think of. Generally I'm not supersticious at all, like alot of you have said I have broken mirrors, opened umbrellas in the house, walked under ladders, ect. BUT...for some reason, if somebody says something as a fact when the answer is undetermined, like, oh, I dunno..."Oh it's fine, nothing's going to happen", I feel compelled to knock on wood, and always do!
Arguy...he literally sat there for 7 minutes? Crazy...
I have seen people throw salt over their shoulders if they spill it...never got that one, but joined in just in case.
