I will probably do this sometime in the near future. It appeals to me to create a clone of half of myself, I'm choosing this over the more regular way also because I don't want to take on everything a child brings. Also I'd be giving a Mother the chance to be a parent, with her own genuine reasons for doing so.
I met all the strict criteria so why not. Here once the child turns 18 years of age, they have a legal right to contact their father, which I have no major issue with. Any other people here have experience with this?
I looked into this when I was younger. It is really hard to qualify because you and your immediate blood relatives need perfect health. All they do not allow any lubicant during the process.
Well, if it is done clinically, as opposed to the old fashioned way, then there are numerous legal protections for you. So you won't have to worry about getting a knock on the door 15 years from now.
I think it's a wonderful, generous thing to help people who can't on their own have children. There's no reason not to donate, especially since you don't mind if the child contacts you when they grow-up.

You do know that isn't how cloning or reproduction works, right? The baby would have a lot of your genes, but would not be a clone of you in any way.
That said, I think sperm banks are fantastic if for no other reason than because we can still create new life if some horrid virus that renders people infertile infects everyone. (I'm assuming, in this scenario, that egg banks will also be around.)
If you do decide to do it, since you have no objections to someone 18 years down the line tracking you down, then go ahead and write a letter to any children that may result just in case you are not around when they try to track you down. That way, they can still know who you were if you aren't there to tell them yourself.

Hmmmm....... Why not indeed ?
Especially when you could make $1000 a month
for doing what most young men do anyway Earn $400 to $1,000 a Month as a Sperm Donor - Associated Content
This would be one way to beat the recession
I'm surprised that wifes don't send their husbands off to do this
An extra $1000 a month would go a long way in this climate
