My dad was #10 of 12 - what can I say? They didn't have TVs back then in the old country. I stopped at two so you've already out-babied me

As I watch the 7 Von Trapp children - Sound of Music is playing in the background. Reminds me of my last trip to Salzburg. They have a Sound of Music bicycle tour for visitors in the summertime. Now I'm thinking of the Christmas shopping tours I did in Vienna when I lived in Europe. Mariahilferstrasse, with big flakes of snow falling all around.

*Sigh*

Looking forward to new travels soon.

We were thinking about having 4, but I think…..I am done! Lol
We don’t get much snow….if any, but we have a great view of the snow capped French Alps from our front porch. I am Looking forward to doing some skiing and snowboarding this winter.
I am done with my Christmas shopping. I did it early because I didn’t want to be waddling around the shops with two 2 year olds in tow and fat as a cow.

One of my favorite memories from my last pregnancy was when I was about two weeks away from delivery day - I put on a maternity top I had purchased earlier in my pregnancy and there was just no covering up discreetly my very prominent (over 11 lb) baby on the way - there was at least a four inch gap of exposed belly when I put on the top. I looked in the mirror and laughed, walked out to the living room where the dad and my son were, and asked, "Does this shirt make me look fat?" with innocent doe eyes. We all busted out laughing! A few days later she cracked a rib and decided to river-dance on my bladder.

Speaking of skiing, my brother took his family to Utah for the whole week. They rent a cabin when they go, I think I might tag along next time. Haven't hit the slopes in a long while. I've been wanting to try snowboarding to see how it compares.

I was planning on driving to my parents' house for Christmas on Friday, but unfortunately there's a huge ice storm coming right at the time I'd be on the road. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's worth trying to make the drive on Thursday or if I should wait it out.

Same. It’s about this time every year that I wonder why I traded that old four-wheel-drive truck in. I was invincible with that.

It is supposed to be a super bad storm, by all reports.

Is that your way of inviting me over for Christmas? I'm ready to buy more presents, I see I got an increase on my Macy's card just in time for Christmas.

Isn't it funny how when you're young and poor (especially if you've ever been a single mom) you dream of buying all kinds of presents and having money and credit, then when you work hard and get that, or enough anyway, then you think: "Well that wouldn't be a very good idea at all."
