Is it true that if you're above average looking and female, your life is pretty much hell due to being forced to experience a lot of harassment and near-rape scenarios? Or is this somewhat exaggerated? I've known some female friends who complain they don't get enough attention from the opposite sex, and they're not ugly either.

I seriously doubt that.

Depends on the age. Sigh... And it depends on the female's definition of harassment, sometimes that it is a pretty inclusive definition.

Um...no.

Highly exaggerated.

The most "harassment" that is received is a facebook or instagram message that pops up everyone once in a while when they post a picture.

Depends on the degree of "harassment". Cat-calls, groping, and propositions are frowned upon. An appreciative look or some harmless flirting is fine, and quite flattering.

I highly doubt it.

I wouldn't say that. I would say that if you live in a big walking city - you are probably going to get a lot of catcalls and men stopping you - which can be annoying. But actual harassment and "near-rape" experiences have nothing to do with how attractive you are.

Near-rape, not at all, but the level of harassment depends on the woman's lifestyle. If she's out and about more often--she goes to nightclubs, she rides the bus, she walks down crowded city streets, she works in a customer service job, etc.--then she's more likely to get unwelcome attention because she deals with more people on a daily basis. A woman who's a homebody who drives her own car to work or works in a small office may never be harassed or catcalled or propositioned in her life.

Harassment and near rape? Depends on your definition of harassment, and a big no to the near rape thing. Whistles, cat-calls or leering looks? Yeah, quite a bit. It's one of the draw-backs (perks?) of being female. Meaning appreciation is nice, someone looking at you like your a piece of meat, not so much.
