Meh. I don't think tattoos are a big deal. If they're tastefully done, anyway. If my intended love muffin was sporting a giant tattoo of a naked lady or Calvin peeing or his ex-girlfriend's name, that would give me pause. I would have to look at that for a long time...
As is, my bf has 3 tats: a sun on the shoulder, a band logo and...well, a stupid one that makes me shake my head, but is not glaringly visible (ankle). I never gave them a second thought when I was considering him as dating material.
I have a small one on my ankle. If somebody rejected me b/c of it, I would find that strange.
Most guys who say "no" probably don't know what they are talking about. They will meet a girl, get to know her, like her, ask her out, date and get all the way naked before even having a clue she had one, especially if it's discrete. Which most are. At that point I guarentee they would change their tune.
Unless it's like a pre-date interview question, along with their religion and political views... in which case the girl would be lucky to avoid the date anyway.
As long as it ain't one of them there nasty tramp stamps.
I saw this girl a couple of days ago, and she had full on sleeves, I'm thinking, whew, who's gonna hire this girl.
My sister in law has several tattoos on her arms. They're not full sleeves but they go past her elbows on both sides, so they're usually visible. She's a mortgage underwriter, and despite living in Southern California in the midst of the mortgage fallout, amid thousands out of work in her industry, she is recruited by mortgage firms every week. Two of her companies folded and she was employed within the week both times with another company. Sometimes if you're really good at what you do, people don't care about tattoos. Maybe she'll never be a CEO and maybe some people look at her funny, but she has a nice car and a pretty apartment in Huntington two blocks from the beach. She'll be fine.
for us women, tattoos on guys can be really sexy. or they can be downright nasty. it depends on the design, placement, etc. I would imagine the same would hold true for tats on girls.
I swore I'd never date a girl with tattoos, and then I met my wife and she has 3. They are small and you can't see them even with short sleaves and skirt. I was dating her for over a month before I knew she had them. Did it matter??? NO !!!
I fell in love with her, not her tattoos. But personally I'd never get any. I now tease her when she has a shower, telling her she didn't wash properly because there are dirty spots still on her....lol
