I can't say I have. If something is a bad idea, why would I want to put myself in a precarious position just to prove something? I could give a crappola what others think of me. If they want to think I'm a chicken..okay.
I haven't, but sometimes that's what it seems like you might have to do in order to get people to quit bugging you.
Some of this involves things in relationships and dating.
I haven't. At least not that I am consciously aware of. People have triggers. If you pull on that trigger (figuratively speaking), they would respond. Sometimes they don't realize they are responding to a trigger. Like "I dare you" trigger for example, or "you're too chicken" never would work on me, but it does work on some people. It's like when they hear that, they can't help themselves and they have to do this thing...
I am sure I have some other triggers, where I would feel compelled to respond to something...
After a sexual assault I went back to the scene ( an underground parking structure), got out of my car and walked around a bit... It just seemed like something I had to do for my own piece of mind. Don't know if it was dumb or not, I just felt like I needed to prove to myself that I wasn't afraid. I did get a sick feeling in my stomach and to this day I still get queasy just passing by the place.
