I'm writing up my Christmas cards tonight. I think I need to buy a new box tomorrow. I like sending cards because it's a nice way to let people know you're thinking of them, even though you don't talk all the time. I try and write a personal note in each one of them. I bough cheap cards this year to try and keep within my budget. I hope nobody minds.
How is everyone else doing with their Christmas card sending?
I still need to buy stamps! I never send Christmas cards, but this year I saw some that were so cute. Since I bought them, I am now committed to doing this. Of course, last night I stuffed, sealed and stamped 200 envelopes - holiday cards for our clients (I work for a brokerage firm).
We send out cards every year ~ I do think it is a great way to keep in touch.
That link is funny. We've received a few of them over the years. My husband has been wanting to send one of the anti-letters out. He wants to brag but in a different way. Something along the lines of what's going on in our rat infested trailer park, How Mrs. mjb had to take up a job stripping to pay the bills. Any ideas anyone?? (our families are jokesters)
I have the addresses ready. I just need stamps and then I am pretty set on Christmas cards...I agree -- A christmas card is a nice way of letting someone know that even though we don't talk all the time, I am still thinking of them throughout the year. This year I did one of those photo cards and the pic I chose is of Charlie and I at the Grand Canyon. It's our first year here in AZ so it's kinda of a special note of where we are.

That is very nice. I do love receiving pictures from people, especially my friend's kids. It's amazing how much they grow in one year.
As usual, I am kicking myself for at LEAST not buying some months ago, then addressing the envelopes. I really want to make that part of it a summer pursuit, don't even have time to think about cards right now.
Well, I'm doing pretty well with the cards, but I am free to work on them at work (while posting on CD, answering the phone etc.!) So.. that makes a big difference. I used to send out loads of cards. I don't do that so much anymore. I do like sending and receiving Christmas cards though!
HOpefully this isn't too off topic but isn't it fun just to receive mail in general in addition to Christmas cards? I mean I still send cards and snail mail...in hopes of the sender returning the favor...it's just fun to get something other than bills, bills, bills....
I sent out about two boxes worth of Christmas cards the weekend after thanksgiving. I'm continuing to work on some additional ones. Because I handwrite so little these days, my hand/wrist/arm gets tired after writing about 5 cards / envelopes. Email is quicker but much less fun to get. Call me old fashioned, but I like cards and letters written with blue ink.
