Would having a tattoo make you more or less likely to date a person? (lesbian, women)

For women: more or less likely to date a man?
For men: more or less likely to date a woman?
Edit: Obviously if you are gay/lesbian, it applies to the same sex.
Personally (I am male) I do enjoy the discreet tattoo and am considering getting one. I am old however, I am no longer a teen. How frequent is it that someone in their late 20s or early 30s gets a tattoo for the first time?

I got my first one when I was around 34 or so. I got another one a few months later. I got my next one August 2011(age 37) and my last one last year, age 38.
The man I am with will never have a tattoo as he does not like them. Obviously he was not less likely to date me because of them. I made sure that at least one of them was obvious on our first date, and he saw the second one later on. The last 2 I got when we were together.
It all depends on the person. Some may not be attracted to them.
The older one gets, the less common it is. I think it's a generational thing. Most people I know do not have them, and do not care for them. I had an acquaintance whose MOTHER, now old enough to be a grandmother, worked for a legislative office or the A.G. in a state capital, and she got a rose tattooed on her shoulder. I saw this lady's facial picture and it didn't "go" with what I saw.
I am 53 and got my first tattoo when I was about 40...give or take a year. Now I have 3 and will be getting more. Tats have become popular & more accepted. I have one (my first) on my right outer calf, the second is on my chest & the third is on my Rt shoulder. Finding the right place to put them is the hardest decision for me but I am never at a loss of "what to get"... Who cares what anyone thinks.... it's your body! I look at it as a form of expression. Tattoos are like potato chips...you can't have just one! lol
I took my Grandmother to get her first tattoo for her 63rd birthday a few years back, so one is never 'too old' in my opinion
For me, since I am tattooed (wrist to shoulder for the most part, still filling in bits and pieces) I am definitely more attracted to men with tattoos, but quality and content is what matters most to me. If I meet a guy with tattoos that look like they were done in someone's basement, or he has 'sticker' tattoos (small tattoos all over the place with no real flow or meaning) I will become instantly unattracted to him. If they are very negative or vulgar I will also pass.
Now, well done, professional well thought out tattoos?? Bring 'em on!
This thread, however, will turn into a 'let's bash all people with tattoos' thread as they always do.

It's all about frame of reference. A person can be from San Francisco and be anti-tattoo ... and a person can be from St. Cloud, Minn. and be pro-tattoo.
I don't even like wearing a watch, unless I have to, so I don't want to pay someone to ink me up.
My personal preference is non-tattooed. I might consider someone with very tasteful tattoos or maybe someone who got theirs in the military, but I would prefer someone who did not have any. But that's just me.
