In my MLS area I paid $2,000 to join and then I pay $75 a month. I know some MLS's have a fee based on the number of listings, but mine just charges a monthly fee.

Hi Silverfall: Thank you very much for the info, appreciate it. Its been helpful. I live in Colorado and wanted to know fees for our state, but at least I get an idea.

Just be aware that fees can vary greatly state to state. Don't know Colorado. AZ is not as much as OR. We pay an annual membership fee, no start up fee. We also do not get access unless we join a local Realtor association which has additional fees.
In my area, the individual agents pay $22 a month, and an additional $10 a month if they have a website linked to the IDX system (lets them have the listings on their own website). I don't know how much the start up fee was since it was quite a few years ago, before I started working here.
As Chuckity says, there is a LOT more for expenses than just that though.
