Is it a problem dealing with two real estate agents, if I was wanting to find one to sell my house and I was looking to buy a house in a different state?

Thanks.

Not a problem to have one agent for selling your home and another for buying, especially if in different states. Unless your listing agent has a license for your new state, they can't help you with buying anyway (other than referring you to an agent there).

It is actually done all the time. Communication is key especially if you are doing a contingency on the sale of your house when purchasing the new one.

You would definitely want 2 if in different areas so that you get someone who knows that particular area and specializes in the neighborhoods you are interested in.

Do you mean one to list your home and one in another state to rep you as a buyer?

No problem, in fact perfect.

Realtors can only practice where they are actively licensed. Most stick to one state at a time.

If you love your listing agent, have them find you a referral in your new town. Then they can help keep an eye on that out of town agent for you.

Our happy clients often call us years later and ask for a referral to a new place.
