I.e. you put in an offer, and the next morning the listing shows "Under Contract" but you had not yet heard anything back yet. Can this mean they accepted someone else's offer or that there is still a chance it is you and they just haven't told you yet?
that means they have accepted another offer. I offer my first home and 2 days later, it was pending. I thought they accepted my offer but when i asked my agent, he said that they have accpeted another offer. But i was lucky, after a week the buyers somehow back out and the listing agent contact my agent to see if i was interested. Now, im in the closing stages.
Victor is right. Both parties must sign the purchase agreement and deliver to the other party to be under contract. The only other scenario I can think of is if they delivered the seller signed contract to your agent, and your agent hasn't yet notified you. Delivering to your agent would constitute notification to you.
Thanks for all of the responses. I'm going nuts because I haven't heard anything. I'll let you know what the verdict is!
rjrcm -- any reason why a real estage agent wouldn't notify yet if that's the case? Would it be because they need to verify stuff?
I would generally expect your agent to get in touch ASAP when they get the signed contract. I was thinking of situations that may preclude quick notification (buyer not reachable right away, late at night, etc).
Only one that can tell you for sure is your agent or the agent you put the offer in to.
Could be an over anxious agent updating the system.
