I was renting an apartment for 1 year. I have paid a pet fee as I had a cat and a puppy. There was no regular deposit. 2 months after I have moved out I got a call from the landlord saying that they had to replace carpet because they found pet stains, charging me for it. Is that legal? Would that not qualify as normal wear and tear? Don't they have to notify me within 30 days after move out date? Thanks.
