I and my husband bought a house last year when I was 25 and he was 29. I found many people sort of surprise when they find out we actually own the house not rent it.
I was barely 21 when my husband and I (him only 6 months older) bought our first home in Springfield MO. The way I was raised, it was nothing unusual to work hard to be a homeowner as quickly as possible; that's just the way we looked at things. My parents were never renters and I remember feeling odd while renting until we could buy!
Good for you, be happy in your new home. It is much harder nowadays for young people to be able to afford this, than when I was your age so you should be proud of yourselves.

Right around the same age you and your hubbie (though a million years ago 'cause I'm ancient LOL). Think I was 27 and my dad's son 6 years older and it was a beautiful semi-custom home.
We purchansed our first home with I was 23 and my husband was 26. That was about five years after we were married. I am 63 now, so getting married that young was not unusual. We should celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary this year.
In 2001 I payed about 36,000 (area had just lost a major employer) for a 2 bed 1.5 bath 1 car 1400 fin. sq. ft. - it was a restored victorian and qualified for a first time buyers program after a roof job and a little paint. I was 27 and my house payment was just over 300 a month - I miss that payment -
My husband and I were 19. We bought a 1200 Sq ft chalet on 2 acres for 58K. That was about 19 years ago. We've bought 2 houses since.
