Just trying to get info of where we go from here. We listed our house with and agent back in nov of 07. His communication skills with us lacked so much that it took him till the beginning of January to contact us to tell us that we need to drop our price about 30K to sell it. After many emails and phone calls he finally calls us and gives us so called comps that did not match us what so ever. We finally called his broker and he called us back pissed off. 2 weeks after that he was fired and they assigned us a different agent. We allowed her to host an open house the same week she started for us and I was so disappointed how that went because no one could've possibly known that there was an open house here unless they were on our street. Well I called her and told her i wanted to end our contract due to personal reasonings. My question is how long do we need to wait to start a new listing with a new agent? We were so unhappy with the agency we were with before and we just want to start fresh and new.

If you've already had your contract canceled you can relist immediately.

Make sure your next contract is not for 6 months. Many people on this forum have complained about issues if and when they wanted to change.

You need to make sure that they gave you an unconditional release. There are two ways to end a listing...one does not allow you to relist with another agency for a certain period of time or you will end up owing two commissions and the other is an unconditional release. If it's an unconditional release you are free to do whatever you want.
