Is MLS worth the money and do you gain anymore exposure with it when selling FSBO or is it restricted? Are there any good FSBO sites from experience?

Do you get more exposure? Answer this, Do you think real estate agents check FSBO websites, or do you think they make appts to view houses based on the MLS?

When I was looking for a house I used access to the MLS through realtor websites to screen houses for further investigation. Anything not on the MLS did not exist as far as I was concerned.

You absolutely want to get your property on MLS. I did a flat fee listing for about $300 / 6 months. Once it's on MLS it appears on all sites like Trulia, Realtor.com, Zillow, etc.

Well worth the $. I was very lucky to have someone on this site recommend a great company to do the listing with in my area.

Thank you for help,I was just going to ask for the info you passed along.
Out of curiosity I looked at my zip on realtor.com,over 200 listings but saw only realtors from this location?
I do wonder if realtor would bother to look at fsbo, even with willing to work with real estate checked???
Is zillow a viable place to add MLS???I also have fzbr.

As a FSBO you can add your listing to zillow, but that is not an MLS site. It is an aggregation site of listings taken from the MLS (if the local MLS feeds into zillow) and other sources.

Make sure you offer the standard commission rate for your area for the buyer's agent. Good luck!

What is fizber. ?
My husband and I recently relocated to FL, and rented out our IL house.
The tenants didn't work out, so we've decided to sell it. My 82 year old father insists he can sell it for us and has it listed on craigslist. He refuses to work with a realtor at this point, he wants to try it "his" way first (he's sold numerous properties FSBO with no problems and intensely dislikes paying realtor commissions).
Ultimately it is our property and our decision, but I'd like to keep the peace as much as possible. I have absolutely no problem paying a professional to handle this. At this point, I am wondering if we should just go ahead and pay the money to get it on MLS (without telling my dad), and deal with my dad when and if we have to deal with commissions.
When we were looking for FL houses, we looked MLS, not craigslist. I just really think we MUST be on MLS to have any chance at all of selling our house, with or without the services of a realtor.
But it's really hard to defy my dad (he's a good but grumpy guy)
