Real Estate Agents posting photos of clients signing documents at the closing attorney's office, and congratulating buyers by name on Facebook?

Seemed like fertile ground for a CD Poll....

What do you think?

I'd rather that the agent post a photo of the "SOLD" sign in front of the house. Leave the buyers out of it.

The answer I would have given was not included. The agent should need to get a written release for the picture to be shown anywhere. Buying a house is a very personal matter, and not everyone needs to know a) it might be vacant a few days while the new owner is moving in, b) the owners might be assumed to be needing local services or more home owners' insurance (i.e. junk mail), c) here comes a newbie who might be scammed for something.

So, it appears that you are "rather neutral, as long as the buyers are not coaxed and are comfortable," and then document that comfort and absence of duress with a signed waiver?

ETA: Real estate closings are public record in NC, and buyers will be receiving solicitations from all sorts of vendors within days of closing anyway. Facebook is not a factor in that. It cracks me up when a buyer gets a 2.75 loan rate and within days gets junk mail claiming to be able to save hundreds in annual interest.

This didn't happen to us... and I wouldn't have allowed it to either. Apart from being shameless self promotion on behalf of the Real Estate agent, I'm not a fan of facebook to begin with!

The Facebook aspect is incidental.
The issue is the manipulation those who don't know any better by those who should.

If my Realtor asked, I'd be OK with it.
