My real estate agent said there was an offer on the 21st and the offer suddenly disappeared today on the 27th. Apparently the buyer didn't want to wait. Is this common?
When I was making offers on houses they were only good for 3 days. If a seller is going to take longer than that to reply to my offer I really don't want to do business with them. Not responding promptly to an offer tells me the seller is going to sit on all the other stuff that needs to get done to get the deal closed.... and I do not have that type of patience.
Around here, offers are often good for 24 hours or less. If I submitted an offer and hadn't heard back, I'd probably have my agent figure out what's going on. But if no response from the sellers, then sure I'd move on. Depends on the situation though. Perhaps if you go back to the buyers and explain what happened, they'd write a new offer. Perhaps not.
If your agent sat on this offer for 6 days without telling you about it and/or presenting it to you, that is a serious, serious infraction on his/her part.

What exactly does "said there was an offer mean"? How was your agent informed of the offer? Verbal? In writing?
Either way, why did your agent not tell you about it the day it happened?
Well, the agent called and said there was an offer.
The executor told me she was going on vacation. *sigh*
I did not receive any paperwork, an amount of anything.
Realtor said to meet on Wednesday.
So she called and said there was an offer. Then what? She hung up? What did she say the next step was?
Something sounds off.
