In my case maintenance had been performed about 4 months prior to the problem. I had only moved out less than a month before and all systems were working when I moved out. I actually would have probably gone along with the ac tech AHS sent if he had not wanted to charge such an exhorbitant fee. I personally believe that he thought he could over charge me because I was no longer residing there and in fact lived half way across the country. I am also aware of how a thermostat works -- used to be a high school science teacher!
