Hello everyone,

I reside in the metro area of NYC and I have been thinking about being a real estate agent. I was your thoughts on the profession, how you like it, and so forth.

Real Estate is a different type of animal. See if anyone in your circle knows of a agent and invite him/her for coffee.

I understand NYC is different than much of the US. You should find someone local to discuss.

Me personally, after 20 years I have no regrets and still enjoy it.

It can be a great career.

I am brand spanking new to the profession and potentially still in the "honeymoon" phase. I just joined my local, state, and national association of REALTORS (R) today and got my first lead from my team leader today and am psyched! My first official day at the office isn't even until Monday but I can already tell this is going to be an exciting new career.

Granted....I haven't actually sold any real estate yet...so I guess check back in a few months and see if I'm still as excited about it then! haha.

one, are you planning on your profession being in NY or in NC?

two, are you still planning on starting a family w/in 2 years?

Exactly! Yes I would still like to start a family within 2 years and I still want to relocate to NC. I've done some research and I saw that if I did get my licensed in NY I would still have to retake the test once I reside in NC in order to work as a realtor.

there wouldn't be much point in getting your license in NY then. And if you move here, and get your license, then I'd look to start on a good team since your local network will be small.
