Is it cheaper to rent a two bedroom in north Dallas or buy a home?
Find out the rental cost and then find out how much that house would cost and use an online mortgage calculator and depending on taxes and insurance normally buying a home is cheaper than renting one.
I would suggest that if you would look for the long run, go for buying. If you rent out for X amount of months or years, then it would be better that you actually own it rather than being just a temporary occupant. In that way, even if you would be paying up higher than the usual, the end result is that the property is yours.
Depends on what your rent is and what the price of the home is.
If you rent really cheap...let's say $700 for a 2 bedroom place, my quick though is it will be cheaper to rent.
If you are renting an expensive apt like $1700 a month, could be cheaper to buy.
It also might not be the same thing and not always easy to compare....when you have 800sqft apt, vs a house that is maybe 1400-1500sqft or larger. Obviously electric might be more. More space means perhaps more taxes, etc. You have lawn maintenance for your private yard, insurance on a garage, etc.
