No, I think it's simply a case of an agent trying to use scare tactics on people.

We have a couple of agents around here that are some of the most successful in town and they are complete jerks. Of course, I predict their meteoric rise to the top will be followed by a quick and painful plummet to the bottom as people get sick and tired of dealing with them.
