My husband and I are planning a vacation the first week of November because that is when his vacation happens to be. Is this a good time to visit your area? Thanks!
November is a fairly nice time to visit Rapid City. The weather is very crisp that time of year so remember to bring a jacket. Snow shouldn't really be a problem yet but our weather is disfficult to predict so be sure to watch the forecast in advance. Also, it will be nice because you are visiting in the 'off-season' and there will be very few tourists. I'd say go to Spearfish Canyon to see the fall colors but November may be a littl bit too late to do that. Have a great trip!
Dress warmly because you never know what to expect. Coming from Tn., you may find our Nov. temps a bit uncomfortable.
Today at Starbucks I met a woman from Las Vegas who said Rapid City was unbearably cold and she wanted to head back home as soon as possible. It was about 68 degrees today. Just perfect for me!

Did you tell her it's mid summer here? Wonder what she'd think about January.
Dress warm... The weather can be crips and cool to cold and snowy.
The hills will be nice. Mt Rushomore is open year round. Keystone will be pretty much a ghost town. The leaves should be off the trees in Spearfish Canyon. But still not a trip. If its not too bad a day trip to the Badlands is also a great way to spend a day. Remember the camera though.
