My girlfriend is starting law school at Campbell in the fall and we are in desperate need of a home rented by a pet friendly owner. We are responsible owners of a Lab and a smaller shepard mix. Both are well trained and we have references from where we are currently/past living. We are quiet folks who want nothing more than to settle in for school with our furry friends. Initial research of the area has turned up very little, and we are unsure of what to do, or where to look. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I second the motion to try Craigslist.org!!! That's where we found our house rental in Cary.....and we have four pets (two dogs....also labs....and two cats). Having pets, and in our case, wanting a fenced-in back yard so the dogs could run and play, made our list of rental options very small.
One thing we found out that is the rental may say that they accept pets....and then you find out that it's only if the dog is less than 25 pounds or something silly like that. So, you have to do your homework. I found Craigslist to be a very good resource. Be sure to filter your search results at the top of the page for those that accept Cats or Dogs (both filters are available).
Have you tried giving the school a call? Normally the bulletin boards are covered with ads for houses for rent. And if you've got a chance to drive through the area you should do that too. There's usually signs out in the yard for houses to be rented in Angier, Erwin, Lillington, Dunn.
Do you know how close to Buies Creek you'd like to live??
