Heading down there next month to house search. Wondering how diverse (racially) Garner and Clayton are for inter-racial (black/white) couples. Any thoughts? Input appreciated!

Garner is probably more diverse than Clayton. But please don't let that stop you from moving anywhere!

You can check racial makeups by reviewing the data available on City-data.com, accessible from the home page.

I live in Garner and it's very diverse. There are 2 interracial couples on my street, Hispanic families, blacks, and whites. It's almost as diverse as you can get. I'm biracial and my husband is black. You'd have no trouble here. You'd be fine any where in the triangle....Lots of interracial families and biracial kids.

Thanks. Is the traffic difficult with commute to Duke hospital/Raleigh or Durham? Is Durham too far from these areas for a necessary commute once per week?

To Durham once a week should be no big deal. Of course, from Garner instead of Clayton you would have a 20 minute head start.
