I am about to replace two 20+ year old heating/AC units. I am looking recommendations of HVAC companies to do the work. Good experiences and bad - ones to avoid are welcome. The two old units are Trane, and planning to go with Trane again, unless something changes my mind.

I have done searches on this forum and read the threads, I am hoping to get new suggestions/experiences.

Thanks.

I would wait for the Home Star program to make any major purchases that have anything dealing with energy efficiency.

Planning to get quotes from: Shumate, Yellow Dot, and Comfort Masters.

Any experiences with the above?

You always want to avoid Weather Master, that's pretty well known from what I've read.

I've heard Service Experts is about the best you can get, and they will redo the ductwork in addition to simply replacing a unit to optimize the house.

Try DRS Services. Danny is out of Fuquay and is the most honest and reasonable person I have ever dealt with.
