I have a window that's leaking in my 2nd floor guest room. We noticed that the seal inside the house, along the frame has separated. (Cheap contractor, basically)

Anyone know of a reputable person/contractor or window contractor to assess and fix something like this. Just looking online and in the yellow pages doesn't do much. You never know who you can really trust.

Thanks in advance!

I thought about that, but it looks to be a bit more than that. We live in one of those quickly built house farms. We don't even have real wooden window sills. It's just the window right into the sheet rock. The sheet rock has separated from the vinyl frame. I want to make sure that there isn't more that needs to be done to the outside, which I can't get to very easily and have no experience in judging.

We had to have several window panes replaced due to broken seals and were very happy with Window World: Window World of Raleigh NC - Replacement Windows Raleigh | Cary | Durham.

I'm curious if the original poster had luck finding the right person to fix leaking windows. I’m in the same boat where the window flashing has deteriorated to the point where it leaks on the inside. The windows themselves are in good shape and I’d rather fix the leak than get new windows installed.

Not yet. It appears that most places are "too busy" right now for a small repair - but if I want a whole new window, they can fit me in in a week or two.

I think that I'm going to go the handyman route. They may not be window experts, but at least they will do small jobs.

I went with the handyman last year. He caulked around the window but the leak is still there
