My wife & daughter are both about 5'9" with long legs and can't find a skirt or dress that is not well above the knee to wear to church! Where can we (they) find modest clothes (cap-sleave, no spagetti-strap, and below the knee dress/skirt) in the triangle area?

What is it exactly that you're after? Every department store and most other clothing stores not geared exclusively to teens have the things you mentioned (knee-length, not strappy) available.

I'm 5'8" 1/2 and have no problems finding stuff in regular department stores like Belk's, Macy's and Penney's. It's not my style, but also check Talbot's, Chicos, JJill and Cold Water Creek. I find plenty of stuff even at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

I know you said they are looking for something in the area but there is a great shop online. Shabbyapple.com They have modest but trendy/fashionable dresses.

Also, I have found Banana Republic and Anne Taylor Loft to carry great skirts.

HTH!

I'd look at Lands End - online shopping - I think their selection is limited but you can find high quality clothing there. You can return to Sears if it doesn't work out (I think).

My advice catalog order. Eddie Bauer, Lands End, J. Jill, Anne Taylor Loft, Anne Taylor, Jc Penneys all carry talls. All have conservative clothing styles as well.
