Does anyone know what they're building on Capital Blvd. near I-540? It's a huge development of some sort, and they've been breaking ground for a while now. Somebody said they heard it was going to be a large auto mall, and I swear I saw a sign once that said KB Homes on it. However, I haven't been able to find anything in the newspaper or on the internet. It's huge, so you can't miss it when you drive by.

^^ I'm pretty sure it is going to be an automall like you mentioned.

Good thing too. God knows we don't have enough auto malls along Capital Boulevard!

I heard sometime back it was going to be a mixed use property, Shopping, Condo's, Apartments, and some upscale homes. Gosh that has changed if its only going to be an Auto mall.

Makes one wonder if there will be 18 dealers there, and which one I may Tee-up first. When one negotiates will '4' come into play? Certainly a deal could land in the bunker or just in the brush. Oh well if it will be an auto mall I'm sure I shall 'putt' around it!

Also, for an industry that's on life support or at least Bailout support its hard to believe they could afford to sink that kind of money into another automall..... ?

To me, this makes a lot more sense than an auto mall, and I'm still not convinced yet that it won't be.

Hmmm, a greenway could be something to do with golf, but usually in terms of a subdivision it means a specified area (such as 50ft or 100ft between houses, for example) that is left as natural woods/trees/brush. A greenway in a subdivision cannot be cut down or cleared by anyone.

Leith Automotive bought the land on Capital Blvd. Yes, it's going to be a huge auto mall.

I believe it's the Upper Neuse River Greenway portion.

From the City of Raleigh website.. The first section of the trail from Falls Lake Dam to the CASL Soccer Complex, a length of approximately 8 miles, will begin construction in Spring 2009 and should open in Summer 2010.
